How do you decide which trips are available for my child to go on?

Each year we book several different trips to that there's always something for everyone. Our annual trips include Yellowstone, Zion, and Alaska.

How are children selected for these trips?

Our trips are designed for children who likely would not otherwise have the chance to experience these amazing adventures.  We can do this tanks to household income-based grant money that's available for parents to apply for.

How long do these trips last?

Accepted Answer

Each trip lasts about 6-8 days.

Question 4

Can I accompany my child? If so, what background checks do I need?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We have one chaperone for every four children, so you can come along in the role. You will need to submit a full background check.  Because we rely on limited grants and donations, those funds are  for the kids. Parents/chaperones must cover their own expenses.

Question 5

We have friends that live nearby. Can my child extend their trip, go see our friends, and then fly back later than the rest of the group?

Unfortunately, that's not an option, as we have to keep the group safely together until we're back home.

Question 6

Are these adventures co-ed? If so, what are the sleeping arrangements?

Accepted Answer

Yes, they are co-ed. The children are housed based on gender.

Question 7

How will I be able to check in with my child through out their trip?

Accepted Answer

Cell service is very limited inside the national parks.  However, we do carry a satellite phone for emergencies.  When we do have a cell service or wifi, we try to post daily activities on social media so that you can see all the fun your child is having with us.

Question 8

What documents (passport, birth certificate, permission slips) are needed?

We do have a requirement for particular documents and will need you to submit a full application package including: 
 • Child’s ID for kids 16 and over, or parent’s ID for kids 15 and under
 • Copies of all medical insurance cards
 • Letters of reference for each child

Do all the kids on these trips participate in all activities or are some optional?

We emphasize unity and teamwork, so we do everything together throughout our program.

Question 10

What if my kid has food allergies or a restricted diet?

Accepted Answer

Not a problem! We can work through any dietary needs that your child may have.

Question 11

Are there any religious components to these trips? If so, are these components optional?

Accepted Answer

No. We don't have or require any religious components or elements during our trips.

Question 12

My child has to take medication. Is that okay? Is it alright if that medication needs to be refrigerated?

Accepted Answer

All medical needs are discussed with parents and chaperones as needed prior to the trip.  There may be some limitations or issues in certain cases if a child's medicine has to be refrigerated.

Question 13

Do you have anybody with a medical background on staff who accompanies the kids on the trips?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our trip leader is certified in first aid and CPR.

Question 14

What protocols do you have in place in case of an emergency?

Accepted Answer

The safety of every child is our top priority. We work closely with the national park service and carry medical emergency supplies with us at all times.

Question 15

How many adults go on these trips and what is the kid per adult ratio while traveling?

Accepted Answer

We maintain a balance of having 4 children to 1 chaperone, plus as east one adult guide.
